SORROWS OF WIWA

£10.00

This book of poetry, Sorrows of Wiwa, is a long protest song against environmental degradation, exploitation and genocide of Ogoni people in the 90s, under Nigeria military dictatorships. A lone voice of decent raised by Ken Saro-wiwa, renowned playwright and novelist, brought bizarre events that turned deadly, and Ogoni faced a genocidal reprehension organized by the military leadership. Before the storm had settled, Ken Saro-Wiwa and his eight compatriots of the Movement For The Survival Of Ogoni People MOSOP, where framed as the killers of another set of Ogoni leaders, hurriedly tried and hanged by a kangaroo-military tribunal with any right to appeal their unjust sentences.
